1. The 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge is jointly organised by:

a. Oppolock Sdn. Bhd. (Aurizn)

b. Volvo Car Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.; and

c. Eco World Development Group Berhad ("EcoWorld")

The three aforementioned parties shall collectively be referred to as the "Organisers".

 

2. Timeline of the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge:

a. Submission of Participation: 14 May to 10 June 2020.

b. Briefing: 17 June 2020.

c. Submission of Design for duduk: 18 June to 17 July 2020.

d. Due Date for Submissions of Challenge: 17 July 2020.

e. Online Voting: 22 July to 4 August 2020.

f. Announcement of Winners: 15 Aug 2020. 

3. Eligibility

a. The 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge is open to all interior design firms which has business operations in Malaysia and is registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM)).

 

b. Any of the Organiser reserves the right to deny or withdraw the submission of any entries which fails to comply with these terms and conditions.

 

c. An interior design firm is ineligible to participate if any of its associate or partners or persons who are concerned in the management of affairs are employees, family member of an employee of any of the Organisers or a related / associated entity of the Organisers.

 

4. Submission of participation

a. Interior design firms which are interested to participate in the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge are invited to submit an entry by posting details of their past completed projects on either their official Facebook or Instagram account, and shall include the following:

i. a short description of the project (not exceeding 100 words);

ii. layout size of project; and

iii. all of the following tags and hashtags:

@aurizn

@VolvoCarMalaysia

@dudukmy

#duduk

#VolvoAuriznEcoDesignChallenge

 

b. Following the posting on social media accounts, participants are required to submit URL of the said posting together with copies of 3D Render / 3D Drawings and pictures of actual build of the project, showing the living area, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom(s) to the Organisers by email to enquiry@aurizn.com

 

c. Participants are also required to submit copies of the following documents or its equivalent to the Organisers by email to enquiry@aurizn.com for verification purposes:

i. Certificate of Incorporation (Form 9) and Certificate of Incorporation on Change of Name (Form 13), if any;

ii. Return of Allotment of Shares (Form 24); and

iii. Notification of Change in the Register of Directors, Managers and Secretaries (Form 49).

 

d. Submission of Design for duduk shall include:

i. 3D Rendering , 3D file & 3D Drawings in AutoCAD (covering these areas (Living & Dining, Kitchen, Master Bedroom, Bedroom 1, Extra Room)

ii. Inventory List with Costing

iii. Sample Board

 

e. Each submission shall consist one (1) project only. Participants are welcomed to submit as many entries as they wish, but only one (1) entry per participant will qualify for the 2020 Volvo Car & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge.

 

f. By submitting an entry to participate in the 2020 Volvo Car & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge, the participants agree to give consent / permission to the Organisers:

i. to repost the entries on any social media platform administered by the Organisers jointly or individually; and

ii. a non-exclusive right to use the name and brand name of the respective interior design firms for future marketing and communication purposes.

 

g. All submission of entries shall only be the original design / work of the participants. Any submission of entries which infringes any intellectual property rights of third parties shall automatically be disqualified.

 

h. Submission for participation will close on 10 June 2020, 11:59 p.m. The Organisers will not consider submission(s) which are late, incomplete, inadequate; and shall not be responsible for any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the entries.

 

5. The 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge (“Challenge”)

a. Unless otherwise informed by the Organisers, the participants are required to design and furnish an actual 1,000 square feet property within a budget of RM50,000-00. The participants will be given advanced notice to attend a briefing session to be held on 17 June 2020 (“Briefing”). Matters to be covered during the Briefing include:

i. specifications and layout of property;

ii. details in relation to submission criteria for the Challenge; and

iii. scoring system and panel judges for the Challenge.

 

b. The participants who are unable to attend the Briefing or could not be contacted will be disqualified. The Organisers will not entertain any form of appeals or objections to the disqualification.

 

c. The Organisers shall be entitled to repost images, pictures, videos of the submission on any social media platform administered by the Organisers jointly or individually.

 

d. The participants agree that only original design / work will be submitted to participate in the Challenge. Any submission of design / work which infringes any intellectual property rights of third parties shall automatically be disqualified.

 

e. Submission for the Challenge will close on 17 July 2020, 11:59 p.m. The Organisers will not consider submission(s) which are late, incomplete, inadequate; and shall not be responsible for any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of the submissions. 

6. Selection of Winners

a. All participants’ designs will be published on an online voting platform for the period from 22 July 2020 until 4 August 2020 for voting by members of the public.

 

b. Based on results of the online voting platform and a scoring system from a panel of judges, the Organisers will announce six (6) winners for the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge.

 

c. Selection of winners is final. The Organisers will not entertain any form of appeals or objections to the result.

 

7. Prizes

a. The first, second, and third-placed winners will each be granted a contract to furnish twenty five (25) actual property units to be developed by the EcoWorld group of companies under the “duduk” brand.  

b. The fourth, fifth, and sixth-placed winners will each be granted a contract to furnish fourteen (14) actual property units to be developed by the EcoWorld group of companies under the “duduk” brand.

 

c. All winners are required to furnish the units allocated in exact specifications in accordance with their respective designs submitted during the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge at a budget of RM50,000-00, taking into consideration that the property units are only expected to be handed over in the second half of year 2023.

 

d. The terms and conditions of the contract to be entered will be prescribed by EcoWorld.  

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights (including but not limited to patents, rights in respect of discoveries and inventions, copyrights, database rights, trademarks and rights in respect of know-how/proprietary information) in any materials (including design, drawings, models, specifications, artwork, artist impression, photographs, films, videotapes and audio recordings) developed, prepared and/or controlled by the participants in the course of the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge shall be vested in EcoWorld and shall be and shall remain the exclusive property of EcoWorld.

 

9. Personal Data

By submitting an entry to participate in the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge, the participants agree that the Organisers and their group of companies including but not limited Page 3 of 5 to its related and associated companies (including those established in the future), affiliates and partners (“Companies”) may collect, obtain, store and process any Personal Data that was provided in the entries or documents submitted for the purpose of processing of the entries / submissions. The participants agree to give consent to the Companies to:-

a. store and process Personal Data; and

 

b. disclose Personal Data to the relevant governmental authorities or third parties where required by law or necessary for the purpose of processing of the entries / submissions or for other legal purposes.

 

In addition, the Personal Data may be shared or transferred to any company within the Companies which may involve sending the data to a location outside Malaysia. For the purpose of updating or correcting such data, the participants may at any time apply to the Companies to have access to the Personal Data which are stored by the Companies.

 

For the avoidance of doubt, “Personal Data” includes all data defined within the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 including all data that was disclosed during participation in the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge.

 

10. Disclaimer of Liability

Neither the Organisers nor any other party involved in organising, hosting or producing the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge is liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect or punitive damages arising out of the participants’ infringement of third party intellectual property rights. It shall be the participants’ own responsibility to ensure that any materials or information submitted are of own original design / work.

 

The participants shall indemnify and keep the Organisers indemnified against all claims, damages, actions and proceedings made or brought against the Organisers jointly or individually arising from participants’ infringement of third party intellectual property rights and/or any breach of these terms and conditions.

 

11. The Organisers reserve the right to amend or update these terms and conditions, postpone, or cancel the 2020 Volvo Cars & Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge at their sole and absolute discretion without liability and without prior notice to any party or participants.
