A DEEP BLUE ADVENTURE WITH VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY
A DEEP BLUE ADVENTURE WITH VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY
Media Trip to Berjaya Tioman Resort (with FJ Benjamin (M) S/B Team and Brand Ambassador Baki Zainal)
words by NAIN MAZLAN
During a war when the first line of defense brave themselves into battle, a soldier relies on the person next to him to stay alive and it's his responsibility as well for his partner.
That is how reliable Victorinox Swiss Army watches are. Its durable, tough, provides precision in time and depth. A rugged adventurous activist who does deep sea diving, goes rock climbing, fights the current whilst paddling in a raft, these individuals can depend their life on the I.N.O.X. watch.
Not only the I.N.O.X. watch is a Swiss-made quartz movement, its stainless steel frame lives up to its quality and has a scratch resistant with anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
A watch so tough, it can handle a ten meter drop, being driven over by a 64-ton tank, a dive down to 200 meters below sea level and two hours in a washing machine at 90 degrees. And it’s exclusive, so you’ll always find pleasure in checking the time. Day or night, in the office or on a mountain, nothing beats the durable, versatile design of the I.N.O.X. Wear it anywhere, anytime. It’s ready.
The media trip organised by FJ Benjamin (M) S/B to Berjaya Tioman Resort recently only selected the elite media to join them for a special event called “A Deep Blue Adventure With Victorinox Swiss Army” and I was one of the few lucky ones to be invited.
All seriousness aside, the trip was a fun filled adventure as it also was overwhelming beyond my expectations.
Fast forwarding the trip to the first night at the resort, Baki Zainal backed up by FJ Benjamin (M) S/B Marketing Director, Vanessa Cheah, gave a speech on his experience as an ambassador for Victorinox Swiss Army. Wearing the yellow coloured strapped I.N.O.X. watch, his passionate presentation on helping the needy and unfortunate all over Malaysia including Mabul Island in Eastern Malaysia convinced me that this man was a true blood genuine Malaysian philanthropist.
The diving experience commenced early the next day. Without wasting time, everybody suited up and was briefed professionally on safety whilst diving.
I could go on about the beauty and surprisingly calmness being underwater, do check out video that was produced by the team:

The I.N.O.X. watch was actually released in February 2016, making this trip a teaser for their new upcoming new series.
The latest horological hero to join the intrepid I.N.O.X. timepiece collection. Named the I.N.O.X. Carbon, it defies the limits with its strong, stylish aesthetic, exceptional engineering and pioneering high-tech spec. Crafted from a carbon composite capable of withstanding extremely high temperatures, with superior structural rigidity, scratch and shock resistance and hypoallergenic properties, it fearlessly tackles any adventure in its path. The Naimakka Paracord strap is the ultimate survival accessory, ready for action 24/7.
The long awaited Carbon timepiece - a much lighter and improved watch from its predecessor - was released in retail outlets in Malaysia in March 2017.

Completion of diving certificates were given to every member of the media later that night, celebrating the success of the media trip with a feast of great food and prize giving ceremonies.
Everyone mingled and have already become friends during the entire event; not forgetting a memorable and touching closing ceremony by Baki Zainal and members of FJ Benjamin (M) S/B.
Despite her busy schedule, Vanessa Cheah did spend some time with me sharing the bigger agenda from this Victorinox trip which might lead to other media trips exploring other rugged adventures in time to come.
Most of the media members retired early once the ceremony was over but the night was not over yet as I noticed the collaborating teams stayed on and enjoyed their final night together laughing and enjoying each other’s company despite who they worked for and their differences.
To further gain better relationship with everyone, I stayed on as well. It was during that time I affirmed my suspicion that the media trip wasn’t just about the watches and its branding. The idea and real concept of the trip was beyond the product but also to be involved in positive actions. To save the eco system. To help out the unfortunate. To prove that Victorinox Swiss Army is capable of helping making the world a better place. The positive initiative begin within ourselves.
