Kuala Lumpur, 4th December 2023 - Shell Recharge is set to introduce the first 360kW high-performance charging hub at Resorts World Genting, marking a significant step towards enhancing electric vehicle (EV) accessibility in Malaysia's premier integrated resort destination. Scheduled for completion early next year, the hub will comprise 10 charging bays, featuring four ultra-fast 360kW high-performance charging (HPC) capabilities. This initiative, made possible through a strategic partnership with Porsche Malaysia and Genting Malaysia Berhad, reinforces Shell Recharge's commitment to fostering a net-zero transport solution in Malaysia.

In collaboration with Porsche Malaysia, the high-performance EV hub aims to facilitate long-distance, cross-border travel, connecting Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. Christopher Hunter, CEO of Sime Darby Auto Performance, representing Porsche Malaysia, emphasized the seamless charging experience for Porsche Taycan owners, with the Shell Recharge 360kW DC charging hub offering ultra-fast charging speeds, completing 5-80% State of Charge (SoC) in approximately 20 minutes.

Gary Chen Wing Kong, Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development and Project at Genting Malaysia Berhad, expressed honor in providing a high-performance EV charging hub at Resorts World Genting, contributing to sustainable tourism and enhancing convenience for visitors.

The all-in-one charging hub will feature 10 bays, including four 360kW high-performance charging bays and six 22kW AC chargers, all equipped with CCS Type 2 charging connectors. Notably, Shell Recharge is transitioning to kilowatt-hour (kWh) pricing, effective November 1 for AC chargers and December 15 for DC charging stations. The Shell Recharge model includes a reservation fee and an idle charge, prioritizing smart parking bays for EV owners.

To ensure a worry-free journey, customers can utilize Shell's ParkEasy app for advance parking bay reservations, offering additional features such as navigation access and parking bay availability assurance.
